Paediatric Audiology Facilities
Our dedicated paediatric audiologist brings extensive experience in assessing and managing hearing in infants, toddlers, and young children using specialist techniques and child-friendly interactions.
Behavioural Audiometry for Children
We employ industry‑standard, age‑appropriate behavioural tests that provide accurate hearing thresholds for children when conventional methods are not suitable:
- Behavioral Observation Audiometry (BOA) for infants under ~6 months:
→ Records observable reflexive responses—such as eye blinks, startling, or head movements—to sounds. - Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA) for ages ~6–24 months:
→ Trains head-turn responses to sound, reinforced by animated toys or video stimuli at 90°. - Conditioned Play Audiometry (CPA) for ages ~2–5 years:
→ Converts testing into a fun task (e.g., dropping blocks in a bucket) to maintain engagement and find thresholds.
These tests enable reliable hearing assessments even in very young or developmentally diverse children—critical for early detection and intervention.
Complementary Objective Testing
To confirm and supplement behavioural results, we offer:
- Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE) to assess cochlear (inner ear) function.
- Tympanometry to analyze middle-ear status (impedance testing).
